Here you will find a number of useful resource links to assist you in your search for federal, state, and foundation grant funding.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA)

To find the information necessary to apply for a Federal grant, consult the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). The CFDA provides a short summary of each grant program, as well as contact information for Federal agencies that award grants.

Central Contractor Registry

The Central Contractor Registration (CCR) is the primary vendor database for the U.S. Federal Government. The CCR collects, validates, stores and disseminates data in support of agency acquisition missions. Both current and potential government vendors are required to register in CCR in order to do be awarded contracts by the government. Vendors are required to complete a one-time registration to provide basic information relevant to procurement and financial transactions. Vendors must update or renew their registration annually to maintain an active status. In order to apply for federal grants online you will need to have a D-U-N-S number; register with the Central Contractor Registry; and register with the grants.gov internet portal.

Chronicle of Philanthropy

The Chronicle of Philanthropy is a newspaper directed at the nonprofit sector. In print, The Chronicle is published biweekly except the last two weeks in June and the last two weeks in December (a total of 24 issues a year). A subscription includes full access to this Web site and news updates by e-mail -- all at no extra charge. An online-only subscription is also available. Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) D-U-N-S (Data Universal Numbering System)

eCivis Grants Locator

eCivis Grants Locator is a comprehensive web-based grants research tool designed specifically for local governments and their nonprofit partners. Johnson County Government has signed an agreement with eCivis to provide this service to Johnson County departments as well as 501 c nonprofit organizations within the boundaries of Johnson County. Federal Assistance Award Data System

This office gathers, processes and disseminates statistical information related to awards from the Federal government. After the close of each quarter of the Federal fiscal year, the Federal Assistance Award Data System (FAADS) produces a file of standardized data records on all types of financial assistance awards made by Federal agencies to all types of recipients during the indicated quarter. Each transaction record identifies, by the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) program code number and name, the type and amount of financial assistance, the type and location of the recipient and the geographic place of performance. The Federal agency that made each award is identified by code and by name.

Federal Funds Express

The online Federal Funding Report is a weekly compilation of items published in the Federal Register which affect Federal Domestic Assistance Programs. It makes no attempt to include Federal Register notices not directly related to Grants and Loans programs. The summary consists of three parts: (1) Federal Register Summary, (2) Early Warning Grants Report, and (3) Disaster Loan Applications.

Federal Grant Opportunities

This pilot site will give grantors a means to post solicitations for grants and to give applicants a single site for obtaining these solicitations. Applicants will be able to search grant postings and funding opportunities available at 29 different Federal agencies.

Federal Register

The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents.  This site allows the user to browse through and search the current Federal Register as well as Registers going back to 1995.

FirstGov

FirstGov.gov is the first government website to provide the public with easy, one-stop access to all online U.S. Federal Government resources.  FirstGov allows users to browse a wealth of information - everything from researching at the Library of Congress to tracking a NASA mission.  It also enables users to conduct important business online - such as applying for student loans, tracking Social Security benefits, comparing Medicare options and even administering government grants and contracts. 

Foundation Center

Founded in 1956, the Center is the nation's leading authority on philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the general public. The Center collects, organizes, and communicates information on U.S. philanthropy; conducts and facilitate research on trends in the field of philanthropy; provides education and training on the grantseeking process; ensures public access to information and services through their Web site, print and electronic publications, five library/learning centers, and a national network of Cooperating Collections.

Johnson County Library

The collection of links located on the Johnson County Library’s Foundation and Grantwriting Resources webpage can provide grantwriters with the tools needed to find grant funders, focus the grant objectives, and write a viable grant. Choose either print or internet resources; many print sources can be borrowed from the Library, while others are only in Reference.

Kansas Governor's Federal & Other Grants Program

The Kansas Governor's Federal & Other Grants Program is responsible for the administration of grants that fund organizations that enhance the criminal justice system, improve public safety, support crime victim services and drug & violence prevention programs. Grant funds are awarded to state and local units of government and non-profit organizations throughout the state. The Federal Grants Program also staffs the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, which is responsible for oversight of six federal grants.

Kansas Grants Clearinghouse

This site provides a central starting point for state and local units of government and other interested parties for researching grant opportunities online.
