Consolidated Federal Funds Report

The Consolidated Federal Funds Report (CFFR) covers all states, the District of Columbia, and US Outlying Areas. CFFR data were obtained from Federal government agencies. These data cover Federal expenditures or obligations for the following categories: grants, salaries and wages, procurement contracts, direct payments for individuals, other direct payments, direct loans, guaranteed or insured loans, and insurance. Dollar amounts reported represent either actual expenditures or obligations .

Federal Audit Clearinghouse

The Federal Audit Clearinghouse operates on behalf of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and its primary purposes are: To disseminate audit information to Federal agencies and the public; to support OMB oversight and assessment of Federal award audit requirements; to assist Federal cognizant and oversight agencies in obtaining OMB Circular A-133 data and reporting packages, and; to help auditors and auditees minimize the reporting burden of complying with Circular A-133 audit requirements.

Federal Financial Assistance Management Improvement Act of 1999

A bill to improve the effectiveness and performance of Federal financial assistance programs, simplify Federal financial assistance application and reporting requirements, and improve the delivery of services to the public.

Office of Mangement and Budget (OMB) - Grants Management Website

OMB leads development of government-wide policy to assure that grants are managed properly and that Federal dollars are spent in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Their site contains links to OMB Circulars, grant forms, important policy documents and other useful grant links.

OMB Circular No. A-133 - Audits of States, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations

Circular No. A-133 sets forth standards for obtaining consistency and uniformity among Federal agencies for the audit of States, local governments, and non-profit organizations expending Federal awards.

OMB Circular A-87 Cost Principles for State, Local, and Indian Tribal Governments

This Circular establishes principles and standards for determining costs for Federal awards carried out through grants, cost reimbursement contracts, and other agreements with State and local governments and federally recognized Indian tribal governments (governmental units).

OMB Circular A-122 Cost Principles for Nonprofit Organizations

This Circular establishes principles for determining costs of grants, contracts and other agreements with non-profit organizations.

State and Local Government Finances

The Census Bureau conducts a census of governments at five year intervals, and an annual survey for the intervening years.  The state and local government finances are available in files and viewable tables.  The statistics cover government financial activity in four broad categories of revenue, expenditure, debt, and assets
