
TRAINING ON GRANTS LOCATOR
Johnson County employees and 501 c nonprofit organizations located in Johnson County are eligible to use, and receive training on, the eCivis Grants Locator. There is no cost to County employees or employees and board members of nonprofits for either use of the service or training. To begin using eCivis Grants Locator see “How to Get Started”.
Training for: County Employees
Grants Locator training is offered on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at the County’s Administration Building located at 111 South Cherry, Olathe, KS 66061 (get map). Training takes place in the ITS Training Center located on the lower level of the building (next to Emergency Management). Training begins at 1:00 p.m. and ends at 2:30 p.m.
Sign up for eCivis Grants Locator Training by going either to the “BFP/Grants Management Training” page located on the County’s Intranet under “Links/Training Classes”, or through the Human Resources website under “Training and Development/Training Registration.”
Contact the County’s Grants Manager at the phone number or email listed below if you have any questions. Class size is limited to 6 persons per session.
Once you have taken the initial training in the ITS Training Center, you can choose to take the online training offered by eCivis as many times as you think you need. Once you have your eCivis username and password, you will be able to access all areas of the Grants Locator website, including online training. Information about the online training is located under the “Help” tab on the eCivis website.
Training for: 501 c Nonprofit Organizations
If you are an employee or member of the Board of Directors of a 501 c nonprofit organization located within the boundaries of Johnson County and your organization has signed the “Memorandum of Agreement” with the County to use eCivis Grants Locator then you are eligible to take the Grants Locator Training for nonprofits.
There are two ways to receive the Grants Locator Training:
1. Onsite Training at the County Administration Building:

2. Training from Your Own Place of Business
If you are unable to participate in the onsite eCivis Grants Locator training mentioned above, but have access to a computer with speakers and the internet you can take the training right from the convenience of your own place of business!
Once you have your eCivis username and password, you will be able to access all areas of the Grants Locator website, including online training. Information about the online training is located under the “Help” tab on the eCivis website.
The online training takes place every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

After Training
Whether you receive your initial training either on site at the County Administration building or from the convenience of your own place of business you will be well-equipped to utilize the Grants Locator to assist you find grants for your organization or programs.
You are welcome to take the training as many times as you think you need it.
